ENGLISH LANGUAGE ASSISTANT - TAPIF
September 2018 - April 2020
TAPIF, which stands for Teaching Assistant Program in France is a joint initiative of the French Ministry of Education, the Centre international d’études pédogogiques (CIEP) and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. The program’s goal is to strengthen English-language teaching in France by establishing a native speaker presence. As an English Teaching Assistant in Bordeaux I taught English to secondary students and in Toulouse I taught English to primary students in three different schools. I created interactive lesson plans and activities that broadened vocabulary, sharpened pronunciation and spurred interest in the English language and life English speaking countries. I created original lessons centered around music, song and movement as that is the best way to impart knowledge with younger learners. I collaborated with resident teaching staff in Toulouse to ensure the students’ needs and goals were met. Living and working in France, I swiftly adapted, integrated and networked in a new community through a second language.
